For Female Readers, Vol.II

Standard

When I started out playing my instrument I found it very discouraging that the only thing that women in bands spoke about when interviewed was “sexism.” I contemplated not pursuing what I wanted since other female musicians constantly complained, painting a picture of a very dangerous and anti-female industry.

This was one of the reasons as to why I made a conscious decision to be more optimistic and upbeat whenever I was asked about being a female in music, because I didn’t want young women to walk away from their passion. Music and entertainment is all about ideas and I fear that much valuable input and diversity can be lost if young female writers and creatives turn their back on their dreams. It is more productive to look forward and approach life in an upbeat way!

Yet what I’ve come across of articles these last few months are shocking and beggar belief, due to their grotesque nature. Whatever stories I’ve come across certainly describe genuinely dangerous behaviour, stories that make my own experiences with real sexism pale in comparison.

Nothing has probably shaken me more than the revelations regarding the dubious cult “Nexium,” where women were recruited by female celebrities to become slaves of an extremely unattractive bizarro known as “The Vanguard.” This cult was promoted as a self-help, self-improvement group….

While that caught my attention I couldn’t avoid hearing about a somewhat similar story:ย Eric Schneiderman.

When you know that these type of predators are for real it makes the extensive data-gathering (and sharing of private information) that we are currently experiencing even more spooky. Not to forget the so-called “dark web.”

You have to be careful when it comes to what you joke about and what you casually throw out there without thinking. Before you know it you’ll get approached by weirdos seeking to “empower you” by introducing you to “The Vanguard” or whatever! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Freaky.

& speaking of whichย this is the kind of stuff that I would joke about. Only that this chick actually meant it. Good heavens. Nuts. Hysterical to read about though ๐Ÿ˜€ But probably not for the guy who experienced this craziness.

Anyway, such a shame that there are people like Schneiderman & Weinstein out there. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I hope the victims can get back some light in their lives โค
