You can read it here:Β “How Cheap Will You Sell Your Soul?”

In addition I was also featured by a digital Heavy Metal Magazine today, so talk about contrast! I love it! This is fun πŸ˜€

Thanks a lot to Elisabeth for writing the press release! I had not seen it until now. It looks really good! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

On the 20th of this month Norway’s equivalence of BBC aired a great program focusing on female guitar players! It was awesome to receive nationwide radio play for my metal & classical music!Β Hear The Interview Here!

I’m happy that I was asked about online haters & bullies, since this gave me the opportunity to highlight that I’ve seen other female guitar players complain about this as well. In short it means that you don’t stand alone if you are in the receiving end of putrid hatred as a woman playing the guitar. If you are self-critical and take what you are doing very seriously it is especially important to remember that hatred can come your way just because of your gender, because people don’t like your face, or your hair, or your outfit, or whatever; I know of course that there are people out there who complain about sexism when there is none and play the gender card just because; this is a pity because real sexism does exists and it should be addressed so that other women will know that they do not stand alone! Once again I am aware that this is a multifaceted issue … I just don’t want creative females to feel unwelcome or to be chased away from unleashing their musical creativity upon the world!

Thanks again to those of you out there who support what I do! I really appreciate it! πŸ™‚

For those who’ve followed me since 2008 you might remember my very 1st music video & version of “Battle For The Mind,” in addition to my 1st version of “If The Dead Ones Could Talk.”

The sound and style changed drastically from those two 1st demos to my first Demo EP “State of The Union” in 2009, and my rock’n’roll changed and evolved further with my
“Battle For The Mind” Demo released in 2010.

There’s been a constant musical evolution first within heavy metal and then with the classical music, while there were other musical directions & ideas brewing in the background!

If anyone had told me back in 2005 that I would have ended up shredding violin virtuoso pieces on a 7 string guitar, while learning how to sing “Queen Of The Night,” in addition to changing my genres and alternating between songwriting styles, I would never have believed them! Not at all! Yet here I am.

I cannot believe how artistically and technically adventurous the choice of music turned out to be!

If I could turn back time I would still have pursued music, because I knew back then that if I had not, then I would have been haunted for the rest of my life by “what if?”

I had no idea that I had it in me to be a virtuoso. I started late. I was just going to write songs and be an artistic spirit.

Yet now I find myself here:

Who knows what the future might hold in store for me, but I hope that this is just the beginning. I have too much unreleased music and ideas that I want to put out there!

Thanks a lot to those of you who’ve supported my work! Please keep on doing it! πŸ™‚

Thank you!

Summer.

It’s so nice when the weather is good and the sun actually provides warmth πŸ˜›

Seems to me like the sun is just for show in these parts πŸ˜€

Today I’ve been practising for the fundraising concert I’m doing for one of the local churches.

I’m a bit overwhelmed by my 3rd album, since there is so much happening musically in there. I’ve now decided to add even more to it, and I’ve also had some new ideas with more parts that I want to add on things I’ve already recorded…

(You can support what I’m doing here: My Patreon)…

Creativity and having lots of ideas can be very overwhelming at times.

I have lots of ideas for illustrated books as well, there’s no end…

It is interesting how someone like Jordan B.Peterson is running around the world preaching to people that they need to clean up their rooms and react to things properly, I wonder what his take on creativity would be?

Creative individuals write and create when they are upset, which means that they don’t really sort out the source of what makes them upset a lot of times. Creatives are also notorious for never cleaning their room or atelier as well πŸ˜›

Apparently you should clean up your room before you can save the world or create something πŸ˜›

Reminds me of this guitar expert I tried to take lessons from ages ago who claimed that: “you can only create if you know all the theory and techniques out there;” which is probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard in my life, not to forget this one:”If someone tells you what to create, then you’ll be super productive.” Needless to say, we didn’t see eye to eye….Creativity should never be boxed in or know limitations, unless you are working on something that is “made to order” or whatever, creativity is like water, it is all over the place, and if it is dammed up it will just explode at one point or the other. You might experience tsunamis of creativity. I normally work on multiple songs simultaneously in different genres…

Anyway….

Here are some pictures of me doing nothing…..

I’m guessing this is awesome, since blogging about nothing makes you cool.

There are lots of highly incompetent “men” out there who really can’t play their instrument for shit. (Nor govern or inspire, mind you). There are also plenty of musicians regardless of gender who fall prey to “group think,” or maybe they just don’t have the “explorer” gene. Whenever I do my homework when it comes to how people handle their electric guitar in “classical” situations and whenever I see comments like the one above it serves as a reminder of how lucky women are to have a seat at the table and how dull show biz and the rest of the creative industries would be if this wasn’t the case…

Innovation and courage to introduce new concepts and ideas should always be encouraged. The creative professions will otherwise grow stale and boring.

My classical album is still in the charts πŸ™‚ This is very cool and fun to see!

The Happy Saga!

Standard

The glorious saga of me charting and selling music is still going strong πŸ™‚ After weeks of charting on Amazon.com with my 2014 release “2 Guitars – The Classical Crossover Album” I’m back in the top 10 once again! As I’ve already said in previous blog posts it has been going in and out of the charts since its release in late 2014, being in the top 5 countless times, even hitting nr.1 πŸ™‚

It makes me VERY HAPPY to see how popular this idea is and I’m looking very much forward to releasing new material!

My manager and I were able to create a great buzz when I was doing Heavy Metal in the beginning of my career, we scratched our heads a bit since the music industry wasn’t really catching on to what we did, it didn’t really make much sense when you think about how much Metal bands normally struggle and how long it takes for these acts to break even when given the opportunity to release their material on a label! I successfully crossed over in late 2013 into classical music and have proven my worth continuously from my 1st single release to my full length album. I was dealing with a Major Label in 2016 working on something very exciting and classical related, but sadly became ill and lost over a year of my life to poor health. It therefore makes me extra happy to see that my release is still hanging in there for weeks at a time and that my latest video on YouTube passed 50k views yesterday!

It proves that we are doing something very right in an age where people complain about not selling records. Selling physical records was never an issue for me, or it hasn’t been to date. I feel very optimistic about the future when I see my numbers despite having a limited reach on my Facebook. That social media platform in particular used to be very important to me, and I think it is a great shame that you are being put in the position of “follower blackmail” as the social media giant keep on tightening its grip. It’s a shame for small, independent businesses and “free thinkers.”

It is good news however to see that my latest video could get good views so quickly without any mainstream media exposure; I’m grateful that Truth In Shredding gave me a mention and thank them for that, now I’m waiting to see if any of the big guys will actually catch on to this. The meme isn’t dying, at least not for now.

I’m looking forward to releasing new music! What I will release next will be original material, for the simple reason that I’ve been ill for a while and wanted to come back to music doing something that was a bit lighter, the second that I’m done with my 3rd album I will get back to classical!

Thanks again to those of you who pay for my work and keep an eye on what I’m doing! If you want to support my creative endeavours and hear new music as well, then please check out my Patreon πŸ™‚ Thanks a million! ❀

I’m also charting on Easy Listening!
