Digital Spring Cleaning – Behold the Glory.

This blog entry was originally written in the early months of 2018.

So my computer has become increasingly slow when I wake it up; and I’m crediting this to all of the various data and Β files that have accumulated over the years. With this in mind I decided to retrace my “questionable” digital trail, to figure out what on earth all of this mess is.

The most embarrassing file to have surfaced at this point is probably this piece of brilliant retardation, where I look like I’m addressing members of my secret African militia, with a giant Patton flag in the background. I mean, check out the swag. This was my look in some videos that we made ages ago to some people who had bought a limited edition care-package or donated to my PayPal or something of that sort. I’m amazed that I haven’t been sued by my fans for traumatising them with ridiculous stuff. How glorious to know that these type of thank you videos were sent out to members of the public. Behold “Dictator-In-Chief.” The worst part is that I probably thought that I looked really cool back then. (Cringe)

FULL ON COMMANDO

How awesome it must have been to receive a personal thank you video like this. “Commander Goose Spray – reporting in from a resistance bunker in an undisclosed location somewhere on the African continent – give me your children for my war effort or die!”

I don’t know what is worse: how I look like or how I sound like in these videos. I nearly fell off my chair due to laughter when I found them again, since I had forgotten all about them.

I wonder what the recipients really thought?

If there is an Alt-Uprising or White-Sharia in the near future over here in Europe, I might get thrown off a roof top, for all I know, for looking weird, I’ll certainly be fined for “odd-dress” or maybe I’ll be employed as the chieftain of court jesters. Gotta love the fact that I’m trying to look serious in these videos though.

If you want any advice regarding self-propaganda in the digital age then don’t hesitate to call me….

“Stay With Me” – video shoot.

I’m so excited after tonight’s video shoot that I cannot fall asleep!

I’m pretty sure this is why pubs were invented, for those moments when you are incredibly happy and stoked.

Makes me think of the very first video shoot that I ever did, when I ended up being awake the whole night since I was so high up. I wasn’t celebrating with anyone though, I was just laying on the couch in the living room with the world’s biggest smile ever.

Tonight was another reminder of how incredibly lucky we are to have the sort of gadgets that we have at our disposal. The amount of “things” that you can do on your own is staggering!

I’m incredible grateful for the “family effort” tonight and the fact that I have the immediate family that I have. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Artists before me didn’t have access to YouTube, so you would only hear of those who obtained publishing/recording deals, people could not record their music without spending a substantial amount of money and there was no way that you could create the sort of videos that people can now make in their living rooms.

As a creative spirit I have to say that it excites me to no end, that it is possible to overcome all sorts of traditional “obstacles” to get your own, original music out there!

Even personal obstacles; such as not knowing how to write notation, can be bypassed! Back in the ancient days of the composers they had no way of recording their music, so they had to know how to write it all down.

I remember my joy when I received a digital camera for Christmas back in 2006, since it enabled me to record my ideas on the spot! I would sit with the camera on my knees, while playing the guitar and signing, so that I could get some “drafts” down whenever an idea emerged!

Likewise I was happy beyond happy when I received an old, worn out, cassette player/recorder, when I first arrived to the U.S.A. as a teenager, since this made it possible for me to record my ideas.

I was the only one of my musician friends who didn’t have any digital recording equipment, so you can imagine my joy when I finally obtained Studio One and a Presonus interface back in 2007/2008. I saved up money to buy it and received an old computer from a relative, which meant that I now had an even better way of documenting ideas as they came to me. Still I had no idea how to use it and was not the musician that I am today. I was also doing a very different style of music.Β Yet ideas are ideas and have to be plotted down somewhere, before they disappear.

I have lots of butterflies now that “Berit – Vol.1” it’s nearing its completion! And once it is out there, the thank you list will be remarkably short, which will probably make me even more fond of the “product.”

Then again, album one will not be finished unless I get some sleep, on the other hand: what is life without those moments when your are so happy that you don’t even know where to place yourself, what to say, or what to do!

Dictators Wait To Climb The Ranks? Naaaaaaaah!

Woke up today & felt like a punk & had an idea for something hilarious.

Trolling is always good for the soul & the bigger the audience is the better πŸ˜›

I can’t wait until I’m done with this personal, ambitious multi-album of mine that I’m currently working on!

Cuss’ now I feel like shooting some rock’n’roll πŸ˜›

I imagine that those who like my classical singing/guitar playing & upcoming material will be quite surprised if they discover my metal πŸ˜›

Today I had a flashback to my favourite (or most hilarious) music video shoot. When you choose a theme per song it gives you the opportunity to create various characters for each incarnation of your weirdness. It’s great fun.
