I’ve passed 1.5k views on my latest video!

I’m happy to see that people have been watching my latest video about Article 13 and Article 11!

I made this follow-up video since I received replies from the EU politicians that I contacted about the future of YouTube.

YouTube has encouraged all of their creators to make videos about this topic since it threatens the video sharing site as we’ve come to know it.

Just yesterday I was watching a hilarious parody/mash-up that made me laugh just as hard as the 007 spy-adventures of the now infamous YouTuber Kraut.

If Article 13 passes through the EU it will probably not be possible anymore to watch and enjoy such content as I sincerely doubt that the content creators had any permissions in place before they created said video.

Google/YouTube are trying to mobilise as many people as possible since the legislative changes would mean job losses in the millions and YouTubers losing out on revenue.

In a worst case scenario it will result in millions of videos being blocked in the EU, videos like the one I was watching yesterday, and it would also mean that people within the EU would be prevented from uploading new content without all of the correct permits!

This might not seem like a big deal, but it is a direct assault on the culture of Millennials & Generation Z, in addition it can potentially destroy countless lives due to their income being drastically reduced or completely taken away from them!

Even though I am an original content creator I stand with everyone else who are part of the #SaveYourInternet campaign!

I hope that my contribution was helpful!

Thanks for watching & thanks for listening! ❤

I just passed 3k views on “Why So Hostile?“

Thanks a lot to those of you who have checked out my brand new album “Berit-Vol.1.”

So far we have released 4 music videos for it in addition to several live-streams on YouTube!

I’m very grateful for all support! The best way to support me as an independent unsigned artist is to buy my music & sign up to my Patreon.

Thanks a lot for all support! Please spread the word to your friends & followers!

YouTube Might Be Over! – Article 13.

If you click on the video title & watch it on YouTube’s site then you’ll see links to an EU page where you can find your representatives. I’ve also a linked to an online petition + two other YouTube videos from other content creators who go into more specifics than I do!

This is a very important issue both for those using YouTube and for those of us who produce content!

Please join me in fighting for our online liberty!

Thou Shall Not Laugh In Europe – The End Is Nigh For YouTube Entertainment!

The end of YouTube as we know it might be near thanks to the western world’s most notorious party-poopers: The EU.

YouTubers doing covers of other people’s music, game-channels, parody channels, top. 10 lists and independently run news sites will be the first content creators to be affected since the law is supposed to protect those who own their own copyright a 100%, in addition to whatever mechanical and/or visual copyright. (I do, or  we’ve paid for a license).

In short you need to own all the content that you upload. It will ultimately be the responsibility of YouTube to ensure that this rule is being followed. Which means that it might only be profitable and safe for social media platforms to approve content from major entertainment companies.

This will literally mean the end of socio-economic mobility and independent brand-building via social media an opportunity open to anyone with an internet connection. It will simultaneously be the end of the youth-culture that our younger siblings and/or children have grown up with.

The face of my younger sister when I explained this to her says it all, I don’t even want to know how my youngest sibling might react.

The role-models of Generation Z are YouTubers, when they meet they talk about bloggers, when they laugh they enjoy parody accounts and memes, their heroes are gamers and influencers and Millennials and other Zers who are doing covers, often times 10x better than the actual original.

Not only will it mean the end of their unique and diverse culture it will also put a lot of influencers and role-models who have not become part of the entertainment establishment out of business.

It is an attack on anyone who is not a baby-boomer, an attack on anyone who is independent, an attack on those who’ve been fortunate enough to be able to create their own playlists and choose their own role-models rather than having content defined for them by whatever establishment.

It is an attack on freedom, youth, diversity, creativity, vitality and innovation.

The EU are the ones who claim that they care about diversity, cultural enrichment and children, now we see how deep this concern truly is in their handling of the internet.

Generation Z & Millennials will never forgive them – Thou Shall Not Laugh In Europe.

You can contact your EU representatives and find out who they are by a simple Google search or make a video if you are a YouTuber: http://www.europarl.europa.eu/unitedkingdom/en/your-meps/uk_meps.html#shadowbox/1/

This is how it looks like when Facebook screws you over…

facebook boycot

The amount of people who pre-order my album once they hear about it is really good, the challenge is to get the word out there … so please share my links with all of your friends and/or followers!

When I thought that things couldn’t get any worse on Facebook, the thumbnail from my music video just disappeared, which is an even more shitty thing to do….

You pick a photo that you think will entice people to click on your link…I’m not sure whose gonna be interested in clicking on a post like that ↑

It would also be nice if it was possible to reach all of those individuals who’ve liked my page and interacted with my content in the past! Remember, I’ve run two successful crowdfunding campaigns mainly trough Facebook, so I’m not quite sure what to make of the fact that they now not only limit your reach but also want to “blackmail” you in order for you to reach existing fans….

It reminds me of the death of Myspace and other social media sites…..

It’s really annoying, since I obviously want as many people as possible to know about my upcoming album release!

I’ve now experienced mysterious issues with Facebook, Twitter & YouTube  in addition to an avalanche of strange accounts contacting me on Instagram.

So please help me bypass this idiocy by telling your friends about my work!

Is The Glass Half Full or Half Empty?

Yesterday I organised my blog and chose a new design for it, so that it is easier to instantly pick a category and navigate around.

By doing so it also gave me an overview over what I gravitate towards when it comes to my writing and it is quite interesting to see how concerned I am about matters that don’t necessarily affect me at this time of writing.

Unless we look at the digital social media world, of course. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if my ridiculous reach on FB has to deal with deliberate censorship, which sucks considering that the social media platform was one of the best marketing tools that we had when it came to my music, now I cannot reach my followers and fans the same way that I could once upon a time. This is not good when you need to alert people of a new release or a brand new music video. It was also possible to have a “conversation” with Facebook representatives “back in the day” since they would respond to messages and complaints.

Whether my limited reach is a result of corporate greed, that inadvertently or intentionally, reduces social mobility and innovation due to power being limited to those who already posses it, or whether it is the result of “wrong think”  I cannot really answer myself – but it is of interest to note that I did experience demonetisation on a couple of YouTube videos last year before this gross mistake was thankfully corrected on YouTube’s end.

After I released a whole bunch of videos from a benefit concert that I did to raise funds for a local church here in England though, I saw a remarkable drop in traffic to my YouTube channel that certainly seemed intentional since I all of a sudden had no comments on any of my content and few views in comparison to how everything has been these last years. It was peculiar to say the least; then it all changed as if though I had been released from “YouTube-prison.”

I have obviously  no interest in anyone sabotaging what I’m doing. To call it evil would be an understatement.

When social media works it makes it possible for creatives and others who are selling products and services to climb whatever ladder that is provided, but it also challenges whatever narratives that “the establishment” want to sell and put out there.

In the last few years there are many who’ve started to mistrust those who govern our systems due to “citizen’s journalism” and “alternative news.”

It also challenges the notion that you need “gate-keepers” in certain professions, you know, gate-keepers like Harvey Weinstein….

The other day I picked up a magazine and ended up asking myself who these people were writing for? I ended up feeling like I was reading something that was completely out of touch, written by one clique for the members of the exact same clique, completely detached from the rest of the world. In other words: it did not speak to me and I was basically wondering which planet these writers and their intended audience were residing on.

It is because of this type of reporting that people like myself thought that Remain and Clinton were a given, only to be shocked when seeing the opposite and how even voting patterns can be. The people I cheered on won, but I had my doubts due to the “artificial, ideological dominance-impression” that is deliberately created.

With the internet and the spread of information established “truths” are being challenged every single day.

Disregarding the digital world, I don’t live in a run-down neighbourhood here in England, nor do I live in the U.S.A., which means that I could simply ignore what is happening in this country and around the world.

If you don’t like something then shouldn’t you try to fix it? Well what if you don’t have the power to? And if you don’t have the influence to fix what’s broken will you not only sour your own mood by obsessing over what you cannot alter?

It is of course silly to assume that your part of a territory won’t dramatically change, especially when it is everywhere else. But my personal experience in this moment of time, is thankfully reserved to observations when travelling from one bubble to another, or by aligning my previous experiences with what others are reporting.

Meaning: I know that the current turbulence in the U.S.A. is factual since I’ve lived over there in the past and now see a worsening in a tribalism and dissonance that I was exposed to back then. The same can be said of the territory that I belong to and live in: Europe. I also know that the stories coming out of South Africa are true, due to hearing the same narratives recounted by people I’ve met in the flesh, who live and come from that part of the globe.

Obviously I would never worsen my situation deliberately in order to stand in solidarity with whomever since I’m very happy with my surroundings indeed, meaning that I cannot really picture myself moving back into a “Southside Chicago” scenario voluntarily in order to “share in the suffering,” I’m glad that I got away from such a place to put it that way, yet it is peculiar that some members of the human species, myself included, can become so emotionally entangled in suffering that isn’t necessarily theirs.

I cried after one of the terrorist attacks over here in England last year, even though I didn’t know any of the individuals who had been affected … and even though I wouldn’t have much interest in going to that part of the country, unless forced to due to work.

It is a strange aspect of us humans that even though we could be perfectly content when focusing on ourselves and our own endeavours, we start shifting our thoughts towards “starving kids in Africa” or “deforestation in Latin America,” lamenting the terrible state of affairs due to abused dogs in Asia and sexual violence towards women in the Middle East.

It is of particular interest when considering that internal diversity within the territory that you live in, might put you into a state of mind where you cannot quite relate to some of your fellow country men and women.

I deeply regret that I was exposed to the “East-side” of Oslo, just to pick one example, and was very grateful that my stay there didn’t even amount to a full year.

When driving to a completely different part of England due a medical appointment I was horrified at the area and how it looked like. It certainly made me even more grateful to live where I currently do as I would certainly not be interested in swapping with anyone.

At least my concerns are largely directed towards those who live in the same part of the world that I live in whereas “establishment stars” gravitate mainly if not only towards global problems, that make them look very hypocritical considering the suffering that takes place on the door steps of Beverly Hills.

I certainly took note last time I lived in the U.S.A. and knew about the rampant poverty in  L.A. yet saw the “telethon” that American celebrities took part in in order to raise money for Haiti. The irony was certainly not lost on me when I read about American celebrities starving themselves on the Southern border, while showing no concern for their fellow country men, or Lily Allen crying in Callais but not crying for England, but rather stating her embarrassment over being English, much like Madonna apologising for being American.

Yet I myself, worry about all sorts of issues that aren’t mine right now, which can clearly be seen on this blog.

If anything it can be said that we humans are funny.
